This page will answer questions commonly asked by students and parents.
  1. Who can join the PTA?
    Anyone can join! We encourage parents, grandparents, friends, even neighbors to join.
  2. How much does it cost?
    The cost is $10 per person.
  3. What is my membership fee used for?
    A small portion ($3.75) goes to the state and national PTA to provide training and support. The remainder stays here at Gehringer to help us put on events and activities for the students, and to upgrade and purchase new supplies for the school.
  4. When can I join the PTA?
    Anytime! We do encourage joining at the beginning of the year because we have contests and prizes for the students and teachers. But you can join any time!
  1. How do I volunteer for a PTA sponsored event?
    We love volunteers! When we plan an event, we usually send a letter requesting volunteers or check out our "Volunteer" page. You can also call the school at 625-7070 and leave a message for the PTA.
  2. If I join the PTA, do I have to volunteer or to to meetings?
    Absolutely not! But we always appreciate your help and input! You’ll enjoy a tremendous sense of community and accomplishment when you help support your child’s school. We know from experience!
  3. I have more than one child at Gehringer. Do they all receive credit with my membership?
    Yes! Each child will get credit for your membership. List each child on the PTA envelope.
  4. How do I get updates of all events once I join the PTA?
    You can find all updates on our website. Once you are a member you will be added to our "Remind" app to get all updates right to your cell phone, email, or Remind app.
